Just watched Prime Time for masochistic reasons and every time I hear Simon Harris all I can think is what the fuck is wrong with that man's voice. Same with Pascal O'Donoghue, Varadkar and most other prominent Blueshirts, it's like their internal sourness seeps out verbally like aural pollution.

Related to today's prevalence of the generative AI theft of the Studio Ghibli aesthetic, I regularly work with a group who organise pop-science lectures and this week's one featured loads of generated images. It was really distracting. I stopped listening and started looking for all the usual flaws.

Just did my civic duty in Cork South Central, preferences in for all but Fianna Fail/Fine Gael and the likes of the National Party and the nut job independents. The lady working the booth said turnout has been steadily high despite the rain, which is heartening to hear.

In anticipation of a very quiet start to the year work-wise I treated myself to the 40k starter set and painted up my first miniatures in about 30 years. Very happy with the results.

On the subject of relatively recent live concert releases, I must buy the one from the last Puscifer tour. I shared in the Global Probing at the Glasgow show with my old friend Becky and her husband, it was possibly the best live concert I’ve ever experienced.

Absolutely loving the new Porcupine Tree live album. Amazing playing and superb sound with great tone from all the instruments but those drums are something else, what a player.
