Perhaps the OPW could reintroduce the practice of offering a buck deer to the Attorney General of the day, as was the practice when Hugh Kennedy was AG . I’m sure Jim O’Callaghan wouldn’t say no to a bit of venison.

Almost 35 years ago I received a simple yet precious gift of a book. Alone in a psych. ward with no family, friends, job, I was running out of hope. Yes it helped me find peace and also hope and recovery. Over time I recovered everything that I had held precious and lost to drink.

I wonder how many people are catching Covid in hospital. Currently in Wales 72% of people with Covid in hospital became infected after they were admitted with something else.

The HSE have stated that they do not yet know how effective this years quadrivalent flu jab is. CDC says based on Southern Hemisphere figures it is less effective than last year. Buckle of for a flu filled Christmas.

Large increase in respiratory associated deaths in NI compared to same period last year. Not sure if that level of detail is available for deaths in Ireland.

Small uptick in Covid cases in the last week, flu slight drop, but RSV more than doubled, up from 48 cases to 121 cases. I was at the pharmacy today they are out of nebulisers for a month now and no indication when they will be getting a supply.
