Every Veterans Day, I think of my Dad. He flew in bombings raids over Occupied Europe in World War II. (He is “Vince” in the photo.) Injuries from a crash dramatically shortened his life. I will always miss him and always honor his service in the fight against fascism.

I understand completely. I was only an occasional viewer. But this season is just remarkable.

It was a pleasure to speak with the World Affairs at Hilton Head, SC about the dangers of this Third Nuclear Arms Race. We discussed the current threats, how we got here and how we get out of here.

In a night of great victories, @governor.ca.gov just gave a powerhouse speech. He’s vaulted to the front of the ‘28 presidential race.

Good. It sends a critical message: You want to be the Democratic nominee? Do something.

Cheney’s lasting legacy will be the tremendous damage he did to U.S. national security with his campaign for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Angry at the film, A House of Dynamite, DOD claims its interceptors have been "100% successful." GMD advocates say past systems were faulty, but this system works.

Yet, DOD claimed in 2003 that its "effectiveness is in the 90% range." Wasn't true then; isn't true now. www.ucs.org/sites/defaul...

Quite a bit of the response to you has been that maybe past tests and systems were flawed, but now GMD works. DOD claims 100% success this decade.
But DOD also claimed back in 2003 that "effectiveness is in the 90% range." Wasn't true then; isn't true now. www.ucs.org/sites/defaul...

Let me refer you to the findings of the only independent scientific require of the test program. It is not even close to operational effectiveness. I will await your apology.

Many good comments here. Wouldn’t it be great if we had an independent review of the test program? We do. Here is how the prestigious panel of the American Physical Society, the nation’s premier organization of physicists, described the test program in their recent report:

Even the urgency to launch US missiles before this one missile can hit is real. It actually happened in Russia in 1995. I describe this terrifying event in my last book, Nuclear Nightmares. While POTUS could easily wait before deciding to launch, some officials would press to launch immediately.

Trump has now destroyed the entire East Wing of the White House. But the American people can’t see it. He has blocked off all of Pennsylvania Ave. to hide his crime.

“The authoritarian take over is not down the street,” warns @merkley.senate.gov “it is not around the corner. We are in the middle of it right now.” 💯

An interior shot of the historic East Wing entrance to the White House. Trump has destroyed this building in the perfect metaphor for what he is doing to the nation — destroying our democracy piece by piece.

In thousands of communities today, millions of people are protesting Trump’s tyranny. A few thousand are stretched out along the main drag though our small city. #NoKings.

Stephen Miller suppresses a yawn as right-wing activists drone on and on about “out of control Antifa violence” at White House meeting.

While watching Pam Bondi yell, insult and lie at Senators at her hearing today, I just kept thinking about how much I’d love to see Melissa McCarthy play her on SNL.

Say, has anyone told our Secretary of War that Uncle Sam has a beard? And kind of a weird one at that.

A terrific summary by @radiofreetom.bsky.social of the truly worrying performance staged by two unstable, deeply ignorant narcissists at Quantico yesterday. In addition to all the concerns others have noted, Tom leaves us with this chill:

Trump issues another statement directly contradicting his previous positions. In this case, he’s absolutely right — Ukraine can win if we back them fully — but don’t expect any action to back up his words. He won’t even remember them tomorrow.

It is one thing to pursue policies that isolate your nation and degrade its economy; it is entirely another to purposefully establish that as your goal. But that is exactly what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did in a major speech on September 15. open.substack.com/pub/joecirin...
