Black Lives Matter was a decentralised movement with national, international, and local organisations all with their own leadership and a goal on combatting racist police brutality, and police reform. They have more in common with the civil rights movement than OWS which was effectively leaderless.

OWS was designed to be leaderless. There was no spokesperson or committee to answer questions. It was a grievance movement against crony capitalism. Unlike the civil rights movement who had leaders, demands, manifestos and books written.
To this day I’m still unsure of what exactly OWS wanted.

GCP and Azure weren’t critical infrastructure to Google or Microsoft. They are just another product they sell. Because a retailer was getting into their computing compute business. And they didn’t want to leave that market to an outsider.

AWS exists because Amazon had massive outages during the early 2000s Christmas shopping season. So they built a robust system for themself. Then sold spare capacity to the public, thus the Public Cloud was born. They also dogfood it by making every product team use AWS.

TBH this is the current state of cybersecurity. You would think it would be 4196-bit polymorphic encryption. But mostly you just need the birthday of some director’s favourite kid to bust the system wide open. “password123” still works in way to many instances.

If a black politician had pulled a gun unprovoked on anyone we would have never heard from them again. Yet the Democratic party runs a racist as the best they can do and wonders why their polling is dog shit.

White PA voters looked right past his racist problematic history and decided , “that’s my guy!” Then had the temerity to drag BIPOC voters along for the ride with their Vote Blue slogans.

Xbox with XBMP/XBMC was quite awesome. Just watching hours of VCDs and bootlegs from the Chinatown market. Ripped movies from your totally legitimate movie library. 😆

Most of these guards are just trying to pay off student loans a little faster or bring home a little extra bacon every month. I’m sure they are just as happy to be there as the residents of Chicago are to have them there.

I’m shopping for a TB4/USB4 hub right now and the amount of hubs with >2 USBC ports (not including the host port) is pretty damn laughable. USB-A is going to be with us for an annoyingly long time.
