My header picture is good old Broken Wing. He lost half his wing in an attack and was on the ground for four or five months. I kept him alive. That’s kind of like us with this Trump election. Let’s keep each other going until we can fly again.
This is the view from the rhododendron gardens at Carver’s Gap.

I saw this North Carolina version of a strip mall up near there.

I went out to see if my iPhone lowlight setting could pick up the aurora last night, but I couldn’t see it. I did get this funny picture that reminded me of an old science fiction movie from the 50’s. It’s the Attack of the 50’ Man!

I made a small donation because I value your analysis. Ko-fi sent me an email to get acknowledgment and then they ask for complete control over my X account! Holy smokers.

My favorite beer back in the day.

X is a big joke. Mika Joy can post a threatening jab at Kamala Harris and I can’t post a joke about someone who’s been dead for who knows how many years.

One of the herons came back for a visit.

I learned the wastewater business in prison twenty years ago, it’s given me a great new life. I realize you’re working with people being released, but for repeat offenders, like I was for drugs, this is good training to get when you’re locked up.

Page AZ wastewater treatment plant. I had a job offer there, but the pay and benefits weren’t as good as the job I accepted. But man, the intrinsic benefits were unmatched.

We had this scientific weather station at a Wastewater Treatment Plant I worked at. It had very precise information about the weather. (Read the line at the bottom 😂)

Here is my favorite sunrise picture of all time, taken about 5:15am one summer morning in the 80’s. The sun was just coming up, peaking through a cloud cover and looked like that for about two minutes. I luckily whipped my camera out in time to get the picture.

I had some herons there for a few months. Very regal birds, very skittish. They’ve gone now. We get a lot of wild birds here at the ponds.

Here’s poor Broken Wing. He got attacked and a bunch of feathered got ripped almost off. They finally fell off he couldn’t fly for about 4 months, so I fed him and kept him alive. He can fly now, but his left wing is still missing a lot of feathers.

I love a good sunrise at work.

One of my favorites showed up to sun itself today. I wasn’t getting a good picture while it was on the splitter box and then it decided to take a stroll like it was posing for me.

I had one of these English magpie ducks here for about three months. They’re a big duck, I liked having it around.

I just love this time of year for taking pictures.

@everyheron.bsky.social They’ve been staying at my wastewater treatment plant for the last couple of months. They were sleeping on the airlines, but now they just come over to sun themselves in the afternoon. And catch my little mosquito fish.

The pelicans came in trying to steal the heron’s fish. I shooed them off.

My most viewed and like tweet, a poor, worried dog in a bomb shelter in Ukraine at the start of the ‘3 day operation’.

Me and my dad back in the good old days in Lansing Michigan. He’s 59 in this picture taken in 1959.
