Bills beat reporter for The Athletic. Creator of too many spreadsheets. Husband. Dad. (dog)Dad.
The Bills will try to make it two in a row on Thursday.

Though after Keon Coleman’s disciplinary benching, it’s fair to wonder what’s next for the 2024 second-round pick.

The Bills passing offense looked the most explosive it's been in 2025 on Sunday.

It wasn't a coincidence that it came with Gabe Davis in the lineup.

10. I think anything is on the table at this point. The is hoping that it doesn't go that way, but the final 8 games of this season and the playoffs will be critical to determining the future of Coleman with the Bills.

9. Davis, due to having four-plus years of experience with Josh Allen compared to three days for Hardman.

8. Valid Q, though I would doubt that's the case at this point. They are likely hoping this wake-up call will help the situation. I'm still expecting him to be in the lineup at some point, possibly Thursday, and maybe even get some more snaps in the slot now with the presence of Gabe Davis.

7. He's working back from a hamstring injury that he dealt with earlier in the season, so with another game on Thursday, I'm guessing they are playing it safe to make sure he's all the way healthy rather than subjecting him to two games in five days.

6. Right now, the only certainty of the offseason is that WR will be a huge priority. OL could be as well, though they have a few players they like in-house (Van Pran-Granger, Anderson, Grable) who could fill in. DE & LB still will have some consideration w/ Bosa, Epenesa, Milano & Thompson all FAs
November 16, 2025 at 4:52 PM
5. I'm guessing he'll get a handful of snaps on offense, but his primary function today will be as the kickoff and punt returner. They have lacked explosiveness on both of those units this season.

4. Even if it isn't Fox, Mathis becomes the most likely player to come off the 53-man roster if they need a spot. He puts them at 6 healthy DTs as of now. Remember, Gabe Davis still isn't on the 53-man roster, so that might be something they look to change in the not so distant future.

3. I'll conservatively say Shakir because it's the first game back in a long time for Davis, but if we're sitting here after the game and Davis was the leader in snaps, I wouldn't be stunned. He's the best option at X receiver that they have active today.
November 16, 2025 at 4:44 PM
2. My guess is because they likely view both Hardman and Moore as slot receivers first, whereas Samuel gives them more reps on the boundary. Shavers is up for special teams, as per usual. I think Moore has been the far better player than Samuel, however.

1. I don't know if it'll be a massive output, but I think the clear piece of the game he helps them with is on targets downfield, and on scramble drill reps. Davis was excellent at the latter with Allen in his first Bills stint. It hasn't been great on scramble drills this year.

Bills vs. Buccaneers at 1pm.... here's some pregame thoughts on the potential lineup changes ahead for the Bills today. Some at WR, and potentially another spot to keep an eye on.

Winter is coming

We know the Bills passing offense & WRs are struggling.

However, the buzz is building in-house for Gabe Davis. I caught up with a few long-time Bills DBs last week on how Davis has looked on the field.

Plus some other ideas on how they pivot.

The Bills are at a painful crossroads with their offense.

They preach two-dimensional football but are anything but. Answers must follow… and quickly.

Another week, and more of the same for the Bills in a humbling loss.

The passing offense just isn't good enough. Period.

My thoughts on a quickly heightening problem that has been the identity of the Bills 2025 campaign: www.nytimes.com/athletic/679...

10. I think that trend continues today, and I'll take rookie Jordan Hancock getting his first career INT.
November 9, 2025 at 5:04 PM
9. All the Bills injuries and IR stints have contributed to Codrington remaining on the 53-man roster this long, I believe. When they need a 53 spot for someone other than T.J. Sanders (who will likely take the Phidarian Mathis spot if I had to guess), Codrington would be the one as of right now.
November 9, 2025 at 5:02 PM
8. I think Solomon has been the better pass rusher of the two, and Jackson has been the better run defender in limited opportunities. Special teams plus pass rushing edge is the reason why Solomon has been the easy call every week when they only had one spot for the two of them.
November 9, 2025 at 4:59 PM
7. Waddle, hands down. They've spent a ton of resources at DT. The contract, the player and his age combination would have been perfect.
November 9, 2025 at 4:56 PM
6. Right now, I'd guess this is the last year for Milano and that Taron sticks for another season at least. But things can always change in the offseason and through the rest of the year.
November 9, 2025 at 4:55 PM
5. On punts, Khalil Shakir, with Curtis Samuel and Ty Johnson likely on kickoffs.
November 9, 2025 at 4:54 PM
4. I think your read is right on. Given the opponent and their injuries, and how much the Bills run game can set up the pass in this matchup, I think this is a real chance for them to get Coleman going a bit just to get the ball in his hands.
November 9, 2025 at 4:49 PM
3. It would be a surprise if Hairston wasn't the every snap starter today without Benford. Primary backup would likely be Ingram, I think. Cam Lewis at NCB, with Ingram subbing in on dime looks potentially.
