And if he does come back before the end of the season, it will be when City need him to be perfect. Unless he's able to be at 100% straight away, surely there's more benefit to giving him more rest and returning at the start of 25/26.

All fair points. It did feel like a summer to be proactive but was unusually quiet even when Alvarez left.

That's true, has clearly been low on numbers but McAtee, O'Reilly, Wright have been sat on the bench every week and barely played a minute.

Maybe he was lile the rest of us - didn't think it would get as bad as it has.. and then it was too late.

Suppose that's why there are some questions marks at the manager. Hadn't seen any negativity towards him until this weekend.

It's interesting, can't argue against that but didn't those transfer windows justify themselves when the title was won a year later?
