I know the article is focused on poor diet quality, not food insec. But that’s the point. These are distinct problems, and prob need distinct policies. Econs call this Tinbergen’s rule

In fact there’s good evidence that SNAP reduces food insec and related short- and long-term neg consequences. So tinker with SNAP with care
