I'm a Brit living in China, I'm a keen photographer and musician, and like to read, travel, explore, try different things and foods, whatever. I come here mainly for the photos.
Not forgetting the forecast blizzards/floods/tornados/drought.

Labour has definitely turned into something else, though I'm not sure what. If Starmer has done anything positive, it's that he's highlighted that fact, and opened the door for a genuine leftist party to take over where so-called Labour left off.

One of many reasons why I like living in China; I'd had enough of UK weather. I'm in the north, where it's very dry; there's very little rainfall. I spent some years in the south, where the summer rains are torrential, but warm, like bathwater coming from the sky. Mosquitos can be a problem though.

He's trying to go for that old chestnut "they shot first," but I really don't think they'll be so stupid as to fall for such an obvious ploy.

I think the idea of tracking and quantifying reading is a ploy to introduce an element of competition, and therefore get people to buy more books from a particular vendor. Otherwise, it's pointless, blocks spontaneity and detracts from the enjoyment that reading is meant to entail.

it doesn't matter, as long as they can prop him up in his chair: while he's in office, the rich continue to get richer, irrespective.

Well, a title like "My Little Pony" might not attract the target readership.

"Seven with one blow;" I loved that book as a child.
