Clinton had much more association with Epstein than just that "stiff autograph photo". Not as much as Trump who was Epstein's best friend for a decade, but there's no reason to protect him. Democratic administrations prosecuted corrupt Democrats because they are not like the GOP.

I assume Pfizer and Moderna (and others) will sue them. What a load of crap.

The reason the Indiana GOP doesn't want to pass it is that with a big swing, Trump's preferred map might wind up helping Democrats*gain* seats, because the margins will be so thin. The Texas gerrymander has a similar problem.

It all depends on whether, after a D victory in 2028, the Supreme Court is expanded. If it isn't expanded, the current SCOTUS will be the true governing body of the country, like the Iranian Council of Guardians, and they'll declare every Dem reform unlawful and let the red states go nuts.

This is what discharge petitions are for. You only need all the Democrats and three or four Republicans, and it may well be doable.

I expect that the commander, if he appears, will plead the 5th amendment, unless he has been promised a pardon.

ACA tax credits are hugely important. We have a relative in her early 60s who owns her own business, has been barely making it, who will now have a massive insurance bill that she has no way to afford. Tens of millions are in the same boat. This was achievable, stopping ICE via shutdown was not.

Yes, he was picked because he was a bland boring white guy who the consultants figured would not offend anyone.
November 10, 2025 at 8:21 PM
No, they did not help move an old GOP bill. This is a new bill, and the House has to pass it to end the shutdown. It is a shit bill, brutal to people getting their insurance through the ACA. But it doesn't go into effect until the House reconvenes and approves it.

At which point Senate Democrats will cave again if Trump hangs tough. They have already demonstrated that they will.

Turns out that they aren't nearly as savvy as they thought they were.

Tim Walz was coming off as an authentic human being and this freaked out the Dem consultants.
November 6, 2025 at 2:19 AM
Too bad he won't face a primary until 2028. But the party can and should kick him out as Senate leader next term and make him a back bencher for his last two years in office. They need someone who can unify the party and effectively fight Trump, meaning not him.

The thing a lot of people like about Mamdani is not just that he is a progressive. It is that he is positive, he is an optimist, he is having fun. He might not be able to achieve all of his plans, but he is going to make things better and bring people along even if he is only partly successful.

Not as long as Wyoming and California each get two senators.

Problem with this: Bill Clinton did not ban assault weapons. Congress passed the ban, and Clinton signed it, which was great. We don't have a monarchy in this country, and presidents don't ban things (other than by using power delegated by Congress). Let's be careful about adopting this language.

But didn't the Supreme Court rule that Biden had no power to forgive student loans despite laws saying otherwise?

So, will Dr. Oz urge that the Medicaid cuts be cancelled so poorer families will get the care that they need? Are they going to restore the child tax credit? Are they going to do anything to help a family that might like a second child but can barely afford to feed the first one? Of course not.

She isn't the candidate. That is up to Maine's Democratic primary to decide. No one should give to DSCC at least until after primaries are over, because they will just spend the money on elderly pro corporate moderates.

Also, he never figured out that he had reached an unknown-to-Europeans continent. He continued to insist that he had reached East Asia, because he thought that the world was much smaller than it actually is.

Except that SCOTUS also created very broad presidential immunity, and even without that it would be up to Bondi's DoJ to do the arresting.

Seems Apple should also remove Waze, since its users use it to report the presence and location of police.
