They just charge much more for eggs. They don't lose money. They maintain or grow profits while we pay out the wazoo for eggs. So.....they pocketed the moneys they should have been spending on cleaning/sterilizing. They are also now raking in profits due to the shortage they created.

I came across some interesting information that chicken farmers opted to save money by not keeping housing areas clean. They saved money. The birds got sick. Many died.
Problem? No problem.
