Plaid Cymru has won the #Caerphilly by-election, finishing comfortably ahead of Reform UK.

Labour, who held this seat since the #Senedd was created in 1999, drops all the way to third.

The Progressive Conservatives will be the largest party in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly.

It is too close to say whether they will finish with a majority or not.

Bayrou only had a handful of votes outside of the Ensemble coalition. Just about everyone else in the #NationalAssembly voted against.

Opposition parties want a snap election. Macron, looking at the polls, will not.

The battle of wills has begun.

François Bayrou loses confidence vote.

And it's not even close.

French MPs are voting on whether to remove PM François Bayrou from office.

If they vote to remove him, he'd be the third in a year. It would give President Macron a choice: find someone else to appoint as PM, or hold a snap Assembly election.

Result expected in around 20 minutes.

If there were a general election today, there'd be around a 20% chance that Reform could win an overall majority.

Note: most of this fieldwork was conducted before Zack Polanski's election as Green Leader and Angela Rayner's resignation as Deputy PM.

I'll watch one or the other of them daily. Enough to know that they're not relentlessly platforming a tiny fringe party with four MPs.

Also, the below screengrab may explain why they are getting coverage (which is different from platforming).

Because, if a general election were to be held today, he would likely be the leader of the largest party in the House of Commons.
