...and what happens when quantum computers will be able (in a not too distant future) to crack open the Bitcoin ownership keys?

...until quantum computers crack open the security tokens?

The real question is not whether the Sec. of Treas. gives credence to Moody's downgrade but whether international investors will feel validated to keep on diversifying their fixed income portfolios.

Already, some central banks have been heavy buyer of gold and non-US$ assets.

That being said, Canada's ratings are among the best, without question.
May 17, 2025 at 3:10 PM
It's unfortunate for two reasons. #1- A Aaa from Fitch would have included Canada in the list of countries with "unanimous" Aaa rating. #2- Fitch has a somewhat lower clout in term of reputation as a rating agency compared to S&P and Moody's.

Unfortunately, Canada is rated AA+ (stable) by Fitch.

Redorer un blason? On n’a plus les moyens de redorer des blasons. Vous nous avez coûté assez cher. Pas la peine d’en rajouter.

Faites-vous oublier et ce sera déjà une grosse amélioration…

Kevin, thank you for your comment. Don't let anyone tell you that your opinion doesn't count.

That opinion is an honest try to insert yourself in the conversation.

Now, go wait for us in the car, it won't be long...

"Destroys"? There are still 8M votes obtained by the conservatives against 8.4M for the Liberals.

Let's say there have been "destructions" more convincing than this one.

Canada!

See the Old Quebec City, embark on a whale watching trip in Tadoussac, enjoy the many gourmet restaurants, visit Ottawa and its many museums, have a boat trip in the Thousand Islands.

We love receiving tourists from all over the world. Plus the Canadian dollar is at a discount these days!

I don't like what Poilievre stands for. However, I feel unease when we describe him has "prick" or "little shit". This antagonism toward a political adversary will lead us directly to a US-style political environment.

And I know, I know, Poilievre has used US-style tactics in the past.

My 2 cents.

US political events have catalyzed a lot of that uncertainty in a world economically and financially US-centric.

Whatever the final outcome, the world will try to lower its dependency to US financial and trade markets. This is a transition period that is likely to feedback on the uncertainty.

Ce serait bien qu'il prenne aussi la responsabilité du succès retentissant de la "filière batterie". Et que dire des rendements bruts impressionnants d'Investissement Québec (2,1%) qui sont inférieurs au coût de la dette de la Province.
