I never see the point in gate keeping the number of candies or the age of the trick or treater. If someone needs to take 20 pieces of candy, go crazy. I’m fortunate enough to be able to put out lots. Take what you need.

Needed a Halloween costume scary to lawyers and judges so I decided to go as footnote citations.

I guess one benefit of them doing construction on the floor above my office is that all the knocking and whining of power tools makes it sound haunted up there this week.

I need a costume to wear to work on Friday that aptly sums up the anxiety and terror of the world at large. But it also must be business casual.

Middle schoolers don’t exactly speak a language. It’s really more of a “bro”-cabulary.

I gave a CLE to the Tarrant Young Lawyers today, which confirmed that I’m not young anymore. But I’m also not old. So I guess I’m officially Mid.

I’m envious of all the 12-ft skeleton decorations but lack storage space for offseason. Wonder how people feel about skeleton cupid and Uncle Sam?

I'm thinking about doing an article/paper about the various issues involved in suspending a judgment on appeal. I can't decide if the better title is:

1. The Name's Bonds. Supersedeas Bonds.

or

2. How to Transform Your OK-sedeas Into a Supersedeas.

I see lots of attorneys say that they specialize in “complex” civil cases. But no one ever claims to be a specialist in “simple” civil cases. Maybe it’s the lawyers who are making the simple complex. 🤔

Opening a new box of powdered detergent is like digging for buried treasure where the treasure is the scoop.

But the real treasure is the clothes we cleaned along the way.
