Seems pretty obvious that the plan with Trump is to come up with some completely egregious “peace plan” which Ukraine and Europe will rightfully dismiss as a sham, but by which Trump and Russia will claim they are the victims and Ukraine and Europe the aggressors, giving the US an exit excuse.

Works as advertised

Given that Trump has no problem making his supporters suffer, I’m guessing the only reason for moving indoors is to again avoid comparisons to Biden’s or Obama’s inauguration crowds.
