Our rural, small town post offices are being swamped with amazon packages, which is delaying the delivery of regular mail. And rural route carriers and postal workers are not being paid extra for the additional hours put in each day delivering packages (they get paid a set amount per route).

Was lucky enough to spend a day with a group of Somali teenagers. They were curious, academically-motivated with clear career goals, well assimilated into our popular culture, and had a great sense of humor!

Looks like a lot of fun!

Maybe on the east and west coasts, this is the mindset. But in my neck of the woods in northern Minnesota, there are great opportunities, scholarships, and internships available to students wanted a job in the "trades," and many students take this path.

my brother's small manufacturing business is solving this problem by moving a portion of their manufacturing to Canada for their Canadian customers, eliminating the issue of tariffs. So this means at least one less job in the US, and one more in Canada...

My son is a head start graduate (and now a college instructor), and I worked part-time at my local head start center. The local kindergarten teacher always could tell which students had been in head start, because most were emotionally and academically ready to start school.

Got notified this morning that the cost of having our weekly newspaper printed is going up by about 10%, due to tariffs on newsprint from Canada...

Inexcusable!
