I work in research, mostly financial. I long for a client who will commission me to do an in-depth study into Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I would spend happy months talking to people about the show and then more happy months creating lovely charts in PowerPoint to illustrate the findings.

Mega Robot Bros -it manages to be this fun story about sentient robots who enjoy fart jokes but also tackles really complicated themes about relationships, identity and what it means to be human. I’m always pushing it on people 🤭

My daughter liked Loki when it came out (so she was 11ish) she also liked Scarlet and Ivy, Starfell, adventures on trains, Roxy and Jones, pickle witch and Jack.

I’ve really enjoyed finding new books for my kids and we are spoiled for choice. I wouldn’t have found them if I hadn’t had access to a wonderful children’s book shop. kids books don’t seem to be marketed so most people’s only reference is the author or if it was a film.

A few weeks ago I had the best work day. I had a meeting with one of the banks and got to go up really high in the building and look out over London - and then I got to get the DLR back to the office which was empty and I got to drive!

I enjoyed the books anyway - children’s books are really good at the moment and I still get to read to my son.

I’m exactly the same - read to my daughter till her 13th birthday then she asked me to stop. She now says she doesn’t like reading.

We love this shop. During Covid I would send you emails telling you what my kids liked and how much I wanted to spend and you would pick us the most incredible books and cycle them to our house. It was a small happy moment in such a rubbish time. ❤️
