Thanks for the reply, Jim. While I agree that over-reliance on tools like GPS and predictive text can shift cognitive tasks, framing this as simply 'making us dumber' misses a bigger issue. The real question isn’t whether we use these tools, but 'how' we use them.

With respect, I wouldn't give these 'findings' much weight; it's a single study comparing younger people's abilities with older people's using survey results, and not cognitive testing, and hasn't factored in life experience let alone work experience. See inserted image for my full response-
