Thanks for sharing! Random question—do you think if Google has to sell Chrome we will see it change for the worse? 🥺

Also thanks for the shares. I’ve printed out the PDF of the paper so I don’t have to squint at my phone😆

I know what LLMs are. I prefer ones that do not use student or industry data to train their models, like Copilot. I’m not advocating for open use, and it’s necessary to be critical, but it cannot be dismissed out of hand either.

I’m not referring specifically to OpenAI, and tbh I prefer other AI programs to ChatGPT, AI is increasingly woven into every system and program we use. How are we supposed to ignore that in the classroom? Our students sure won’t be. I’d rather address it and teach proper use scenarios and prompting.

Are you arguing against teaching our students to use AI?

I read that the new digital divide is between those who know how to use AI effectively and those who cannot. I feel like we are doing a kids a disservice if we don’t talk about it and appropriate use scenarios both now and in the future.

I cringed when I saw this. Feels like when the computer came out and people argued against its use in classrooms. How are our students supposed to compete for jobs against those who can leverage AI?

All my teachers miss it, so I’ve been desperate for a free solution! 5 min max recording time, but in most cases that’s plenty! #eduskychat
