It probably is largely because I coach high school ball on the side, but I take great pride in being a Baseball Pedant. (It’s probably also why there’s only a select few I can comfortably watch a live game with at this point)

Would you also like to discuss them calling a ball bouncing over the fence a ground rule double when the proper term is (and has always been) a rulebook double?

One of my favorites from this genre was back in Kawhi’s days at SDSU. Our point guard at the time was named DJ Gay. While breaking down film during a pregame segment about him, the announcer proclaimed “I’m a Gay guy!” followed by what felt like an hour of dead air after he realized what he said.
