What fictional creature/villain traumatized you as a child? I was terrified of Mr. Snuffleupagus, which I thought was eccentric until I saw the Snuffleupagus who was around back then and I realized that the reason he left the show was because he is out there hunting me and one day he will find me
The abominable original Snuffleupagus, with terrifying yellow eyes that point in wild directions, and huge evil eyebrows. He is about to eat Big Bird, I am sure of it. This version of Big Bird is also kind of scary, so maybe they are teaming up to eat all of the children watching at home...

Plastic eyes are getting more and more realistic - it's time to prepare for stuffed animal personhood
A stuffed animal in the shape of an orange cat that is just realistic enough to have some creepy uncanny valley effect going on. It has big sad eyes that make it feel like you have failed it personally. It is just as sentient as a large language model, so should it have more rights than people? The Guardian wonders...

There is a food truck park on the other side of that bridge called “The Can Opener” and they sell ice cream out of a bus with the roof chopped off - it has to feel AMAZING to emerge from a crash into the bridge only to find a mini theme park making fun of you

Eastgate Shopping Center in Chapel Hill ohas had a historically awful week, but it did get a double rainbow so intense it looks like simulation of what Earth would look like if it had rings like Saturn
A double rainbow stretching above a typical American shopping center with a line of traffic in front of it. The inner rainbow is vividly intense, with the lines of color sharply defined, especially on the right side. The outer rainbow is less vivid, but still clearly visible. The space between the two rainbows is a dark purply color, giving the rainbow something of the feeling of a solid object. The shopping center behind the camera was destroyed by several feet of floodwaters a few days ago, and heavy rains have continued since. Meteorological phenomena do not actually symbolize anything, but it sure would be nice if this meant that the worst is over. The same rainbow in close-up, showing how vivid the colors are.
