Yeah, when medical transition was first offered in the U.S., trans people just read the studies being made about them. It drove the gatekeeping physicians crazy. "How Sex Changed" and "Trans America" were interesting reads.

Definitely true. Also, the rhetoric we were fighting in the early to mid 2010s (4chan vs. Tumblr, gamergate, IDW, etc.) Is now the platform of the Republican party. That's where it was focus tested. Especially the right wing strategy to turn the country against trans people.

I don't think that a person can understand the ways young millennials and gen z approach politics without understanding fandom culture. We were steeped in it.
