Good advice from the expert if you’re trying to raise money that doesn’t directly benefit you (for kids with cancer etc) but not if you’re trying to raise money to fund a business. I appreciate you pushing back on the cringiest of advice

Home repair, organization and deep cleaning. You’re about to spend a lot of time at home staring at a broken door handle or filthy baseboards or something and you won’t have the energy to do anything about it but it will drive you nuts.

I was having this conversation with my own mother, who said that "universities have a big pot of money they can use to make up for any cuts in federal funding" and also there are "plenty of private individuals who will step up and fund the research." It's like banging your head against a wall.

I've had experiences with older retired people in particular who only hear about AI from the news that think it can do anything now. I told someone my husband's job is he makes video games and they said, "Doesn't AI just do all that now?"

We did a few over spring break junior year, but for the most part we waited to tour until Senior year, when he started getting admissions offers. Touring schools he was never going to get into seemed a waste. And taking days off school second semester senior year...doesn't really matter.
