T-minus 39 days until my publish date and my book hits the shelves. I’m so freakin nervous because… well… BECAUSE!

This vid has gone viral on two other social media platforms. It’s evoked a lot of strong feelings & I’ve received a wide range of opinions. It’s been… intense. I’m grateful though, for connecting with so many human souls over the topic of life & death and the gratitude & love we feel about it all.

Naturally dyed easter eggs using red cabbage, blue spirulina, butterfly pea flower, arbutus bark, onion skins and leaves from my front yard. Each year I improve a little. 🥚🩵🥚🩵🥚

The animals I create in my mixed media collages are inspired by the old jewelry in my collection. I thrift for costume jewelry & old brooches and shiny pretty things. Currently I have a lot of metal bits that look rather medieval. Ravens always want to be the main character in my art! #collage #art

I collect odds & ends and bits & bobs for lighthearted whimsical collages. Usually they try to communicate my reverence for Nature and My love of… Love ❤️#art

I don’t know about you…but when I remember that we are all just trying to survive on this little rock that is hurtling through space at 67,000 mph… well, that freaks me out. Instead of hurting each other, I think we should be holding onto each other for dear life. #love

I had to run away from the news today. I went on one of my favourite hikes.

This tiny sketching set is perfect for carrying in my purse and whipping out on the many ferry rides I take. I’m happiest when my hands are busy being creative. Even if it’s just my hair scrunchie.

Timelapse of extracting seaweed pigment & then washing it. Later, I paint with it.

Update on my recent post about finding a disc golf ‘frisbee’ on the ocean floor. I posted on our local disc golf course page and the owner was found! The Innova disc belongs to a Labrador Retriever named Lucy. Who’s the retriever now? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Happy to help a dog out #discgolf

Green pigment is made from seaweed (sea lettuce). I mix this into watercolours. You can see how the pigment has faded in two years.

My quirk? I’m always looking for meaning or for signs. Things to shake me awake from the mundane.

Yesterday… I had to choose between going snorkelling or… playing in a disc golf tournament. I chose to go snorkelling but can you believe what I found on the ocean floor? A disc golf frisbee! Wth?!

Making watercolour pigment from the bark of the Arbutus (Pacific Madrone). This is a quick painting of my home (painted with the arbutus pigment and a few other homemade botanical paints).

My book had an Amazon best seller label for two whole days!!! I’m glad I took screen shots because it’s slipping back into obscurity! 🤣 Hopefully once it is beyond the preorder stage and actually printed & on the shelves, people will buy it and…. Like it?! (This is scary sh!t).

Red Cabbage pigment. Where science meets art. Anthocyanin pigment colours are derived from creating a lake pigment and altered by adjusting the pH.
