Two of my works in progress. The first is a striped Musselburgh hat using leftover sock yarns. The second is also a hat, the “Sip” pattern. It’s a very nice stranded colourwork hat and I’m making it inside out to practice Portuguese knitting. I took classes recently. #showmeyourknits 🧶

Baby hats for baby week. The Clayoquot Toque and the Barley, both patterns by Tin Can Knits. The Clayoquot was knit with yarn leftover from other projects and the Barley was made with Berroco Vintage. #showmeyourknits 🧶

Not quite baby knits, more like toddler knits. My granddaughter saw my socks and said “I want rainbow socks too!” So I knit her a pair and a spare. #showmeyourknits 🧶

The Shiftalong hat by Andrea Mowry, mosaic colourwork using slipped stitches and only one colour per row. Her patterns are usually done with bright colours but I used neutrals. The dark yarn shifts black, dark brown, dark grey. #showmeyourknits 🧶

Sooner or later another pandemic of some sort will come along. Canadians will vaccinate at our usual rate but Americans will not, because RFK will have convinced more people that vaccines are harmful, America will be behind in production, or Americans will not be educated through the CDC. 1/2

I’m going to finish the second sock and block them today. A cuff down, 3 x 1 rib, short row heel is always my favourite “plain” sock for fit. It fits anyone, me with my high instep and my flat-footed son, and is unisex. 🧶#KnitSky #CraftSky #knitsocks

I’m going to finish the second sock and block them today. A cuff down, 3 x 1 rib, short row heel is always my favourite “plain” sock for fit. It fits anyone, me with my high instep and my flat-footed son, and is unisex. 🧶#KnitSky #CraftSky #knitsocks

When I shop I always look for the locally made option. As a Canadian I look first for the “Made in Canada” label and the next thing I do is try to eliminate the “Made in China” items. “Made in the USA” is always right behind made at home. 1/2

The second Classic Ribbed Hat I’ve knit recently, one for each of my sons. I love ribbed hats because they’re so stretchy the fit doesn’t have to be exact. The pattern is free on the Purl Soho website and has multiple sizes.🧶
