Check our our op-ed in the Chicago Trib led by Julia Lippert! The CDC reports 33-56M flu cases this season, but low vaccination rates & healthcare cuts are making it worse.
We need to:
🚑 Protect Medicaid
💉 Invest in vaccines
🔬 Restore research funding

Health researchers: Flu cases are unnecessarily on the rise. Policy failures are to blame.
Funding to Medicaid should be maintained, and the federal government should invest in efforts to promote vaccinations.

Promoting weight loss=contributing to weight stigma.

The shift from focusing on weight as the “be-all-end-all” outcome doesn’t mean we ditch scientific inquiries focused on improving access & adoption of physical activity behaviors & eating a well-rounded diet.

As someone trained as an obesity researcher, this piece represents a long evolution for me personally and professionally. I wish I had come to this point sooner, but glad I’m here! Should the field of behavioral medicine move away from obesity? I say yes.
