The best way to learn is to try something new, right? And I’ve still got Book Three to experiment with a different method.

Here’s to finding what works.

Now I’m trying something fresh with Book Two:
• Chapter read (as before)
• Immediate rewrites (hello, internal monologues, my weakness)
• And
• Move to the next chapter
• Saving dialogue, adverbs, echoes, repetitions, passive voice, etc. for the next round

Book One’s Editing Journey:
• Chapter read
• Strategic rewrites
• Dialogue refinement
• Read again, removing echoes, passive voice, my forever clutch words
• Thesaurus in hand, hunting for stronger words and verbs (run fast? Jo, c’mon! Have you heard of dash, sprint, bolt?)
• Chapter looks decent

My first draft started as a personal challenge, but evolved into a big baby, so I had to split into a trilogy.

Book One took me fourteen months to rewrite+edit.
Book Two is currently under the editing spell.
