Effingham County, GA is installing pet microchip readers around the county so you can scan a found pet and get them reunited with their family and not have to take them to the shelter!

Audrey is a good mama hen to these chicks from McMurray Hatchery. This is her second brood this summer.

Root Knot Nematode season 👎
Cucumber root showing lots of swollen knobby small roots that prevent the plant from taking up water and nutrients. Tomato root showing lots of swollen roots where the nematodes laid their eggs.

Saw my Black Racer Snake friend today! It’s the first time I’ve seen him this season. True to their name, Racers are very fast so I’m happy he stayed still so I could take a picture today.

Went to the Savannah Wildlife refuge today. Besides 4 alligators (1 baby!) we saw many Coots, some Ruddy ducks, Common Gallinules, and Pied-billed Grebes. It was a beautiful day to be at the refuge.
