Tried out woodcarving and it was fun!! Really challenging with the fine detail tho. Ended up with a rather unfortunately phallic-looking hibiscus after accidentally chipping away the second row of flower bits 🙃

I watched 12 Angry Men not knowing what to expect and hot damn, it was absolutely rivetting. Not a single moment felt draggy, the pacing and build up of tension was perfection. What an incredible study of character, each of these unnamed men were such distinct personalities!

Here's the progression reel of how this piece took me 4 years; just a lethal combination of artblock, procrastination, and indecision. But it's also pretty satisfying to see how it all came together in the end.

I went through horrible artblock (anim block?) for years and finally mustered the will to blaze through most of it in the past 2 months. It's honestly a relief to be done with this! This piece has evolved a ton since it first started.

I started this almost 4(!!) years ago to practice animating on 2s & get more comfortable animating hands. This piece has taken so long that I don't know if I've leveled up, but finishing it matters more than perfection.

Today's my birthday and a good time to reflect on all the little wins in 2024. I'm pretty happy with what I've done this year in my personal life even though I did not develop much career-wise. I hope next year I'll be able to turn the non-achievements into more little wins :)

I planned my Tokyo trip around the convention weekend and attended both Design Festa and Comitia. It was a wonderful experience and I'd love to do it again, the level of talent and artistry here is just insane! I spent so much money and I'd gladly do it all over again 🥹
