Very cool. Another approach I like (because "land isn't unemployed") is bivariate proportional symbol maps. I've provided tips for building these in ArcGIS Pro: blog.popdata.org/bivariate-pr.... I'm sure it'd be doable in R and would love to see that sometime.

I was cracking up in bed when I saw this Saturday night and shared it with our friends at Lutsen Sunday morning. Wish you'd been there! There were some good chuckles, but nothing quite matching the glee I'd felt.
