landlords, if they can afford to, would be incentivized to build sveral more units plus ADUs on a standard lot...but the units won't be low income/ truly affordable for the " middle class" bc building costs etc won't pencil out.

passing Berkeley's Missing Middle housing WITH the Development Standards revisions currently proposed for the new R2 zoning will UP the already high property values for owners of modest working class cottage properties in West Berkeley;

interesting, can you tell us what are current Vacancy rates in our existing new Berkeley buildings? and are the rents/selling prices in line with "middle" income?
