Ooh, I 😍 this one. Rose Marie, my asexual, devout, pun-loving, 🍕 delivery girl is visiting me! I relate to her & I love her personality, who she is. She is here to deliver 🍕. Art below by @elizabeth-space.bsky.social

Saddened to see that Spooky Magazine has come to an end. This was the home of cozy horror, the kind if horror that usually wasn't R, but more like witchy Halloween vibes. Thank you, Jose Cruz & Josh Sally. Thank you for this spooky but compassionate series of magazines.

Good morning, Bluesky! I am very honored to be included in this upcoming sci-fi horror anthology from Terrorcore Publishing. There is something especially interesting about those anthology - all the stories are in the same canon & are mean to compliment each other with a shared lore.👽

Rose Marie from my cozy horror stories woukd be best friends with Marcilla, my half-goblin from my fantasy stories. Marcilla's introverted vibes would mesh well with Rose Marie's quirky friendliness.

So far, none of my published stories have animals that are confirmed as fully sentient in the way people are... the closest I can think of is my Chupacabra from the upcoming What Lurks anthology -who laughs & winks - suggesting possibly he understands what is being said.

Originally, Rose Marie was supposed to be a goody-goody Catholic supporting antagonist - one who mistakenly accuses the MC of Satanism. But the more I wrote about her, the more I realized she should be a progressive Catholic girl, an MC, & she's asexual! Art by Lizi88 below:

Trigger warnings are an important tool for readers. Relatively new for literature, they've been since the dawn of Hollywood. What do you think this thing is? It's a GOOD thing that books are finally catching up to one of the things that films used to do better than them.

Ty! 🖤 Limimal horror is horror like The Backrooms - empty, clean places that seem a bit off. Happy Wednesday:

Rose Marie, pizza delivery girl makes complex choices when she decides who to stalk out of her suspicion they are posessed. At first she seems like a silly busy body, but someone IS posessed. Unfortunately, Rose Marie may have guessed wrongly.

One of my favorite genres of non-fiction books are the "making of this movie" type books, such as Taking Shape, a highly entertaining book about the history of the Halloween franchise:

#HorrorWritersChat Q4:

Rose Marie (one of my characters) is an extremely paranoid Catholic girl. Maybe she can try to be calm & stop seeing faces in the steering wheel for Lent as she delivers the 🍕? (She's a pizza delivery girl.)

Liarland by Madison Rupp kind of had this quality while I was reading it. It's such a cozy thriller set in a theme park that I found myself thinking "Oh man" when there was only a sliver of book left.

I relate to this answer. One of my originally-intended antagonists is Rose Marie Sullivan, a deeply Catholic 🍕 delivery girl who is scared of "curses" & thinks her innocent neighbor is evil. But I decided in the next story to point her towards an actual villain, redeeming Rose Marie.

The last book I bought was There's A Haint In That There Holler, a charity horror anthology:

I was shown a lot of proof of just how right-wing & AI-driven this press is. A disgruntled Raconteur author even bragged about how you listed their submission entries, as part of an effort to "infiltrate" non-right wing publishing circles. Here is a screenshot where they discuss strategy:

Several of their covers are creates with the help of AI. They also allow submissions to be written with AI, and some of their writers have mentioned on the official Discord that they used AI when creating their submissions. Example of one of their covers that I was told by an insider is AI:

Heh, nice. ❤️ We also went through a vampire stage. 🧛‍♀️ I liked all the stories. Even though I didn't mention by name most of the stories in my Goodreads review, here is what I said about yours on Threads:

Hetty & Byatt, two tragic girls who love each other platonically. Hetty's quest to save Byatt will cause lots of heartache, but it's the thought that counts most. Wilder Girls.

As someone on the aro & ace spectrum, I long for the day when society treats having a BFF with the same honor & respect as it does to marriage & sex. I long for the day when terms like "friend-zoned" stop being used as a taunt. Happy Valentines Day, to both the platonic & the romantic! ❤️
