Fetterman is a human and I wish no ill upon him. I hope he gets the best medical care and makes a full recovery. I just wish society in general and Fetterman in particular (along with Kaine, King, Hassan, Schumer, et al) valued the lives of people like my coworker as much as we do Fetterman's.

The Billionaire Governor of of a major US state is not "caught in the middle", and its not impatient to expect him to follow through with his words and respond when people who he can fire are violating and brutalizing his constituency. Many of us won't have the luxury of waiting this out.

Why do you assume (a) it's an insurrection (i.e. they are acting against the Governor's orders) and (b) Pritzker has no power whatsoever to stop them? That was the whole point of the original post. He has a lot of power! He should use it! I don't understand what you are arguing for, beyond despair.

Not excusing anything awful, but have you considered that people may find the comparison silly and that it's fun to dunk on silly things people say, especially when those people have some perceived high status (e.g. a blue check)? I find that more likely than some projection of latent antitech bias.
