I think Nintendo updates / refreshes hardware when their first party games hit the ceiling of the current hardware.

Sony and Microsoft generations go like every six or so, but the argument could maybe they could update performance by software updates and slight hardware iterations within the gen.

Season 2 seemed to be- from all I’ve read- a beast to produce. And really expensive. So it might be a little of both.

I’d imagine they’re trying to get the extra interest and views to increase the renewal chances. It’s sometimes a tell that maybe the show hasn’t quite reached whatever their internal metric Apple needed to justify the renewal from the initial rollout.

Because the record buying public were so overwhelmed by Jagger and Richard’s obviously superior solo careers. And Dave Clark. And Lulu.

It also allows the vinyl records to serve a somewhat different purpose from the general cd / digital music collection. The things I want to have on vinyl should be longer form pieces because how I listen to those sorts of material is different from, say, randomly shuffling pop songs.

So movie & video game soundtracks / scores, hip hop instrumental albums, and covers records are the thing I'm trying to get more often on vinyl as opposed to just pop records. It makes the record collection more unique that way.

Also, the OMD Peel Sessions release looks interesting.
