Rome got a Nero who fiddled. We’re stuck with the Nero that diddled.

If ICE will pepper spray a priest and lie about his being antifa, then I’m antifa too.

Pass it on.

Having read Alan Derschowitz’s book defending Israel, in good faith, and seriously considered his argument, it’s high time he wrote another and explained this shit.

Ah yes, the two titans of literature together at last.

$115 for one bag of groceries, after discounts, choosing storebrand wherever possible. I’m tired of being Great Again, can we go back to Woke?

Having steadily played video games for 30+ years at this point, my new metric for what makes a truly bad game is whether or not you need to rely on spamming a move to make progress.

Ninja Gaiden, looking at you!

Indiana Jones is _significantly_ better at punching Nazis than he is at archaeology.

In Schumer’s defense, it’s important to bide Democrats’ time doing nothing in the minority, letting the GOP hoist themselves by awful, destructive petards, so that Democrats can do nothing as the majority too.

If you’d said this back when it mattered I’d still be subscribed, you overly comfortable fucks.

Soooooooooooooo how’s rapture?

There is a lot about this that is infuriating. I am most infurious at protest voters and other people with which I share a point of view electing not to vote for Not This because [insert reason Harris wasn’t Perfect TM]

Elections are always a choice.

As this era progresses, what I care about, politically, has honestly simplified over time. If you stand for ignorance, misinformation, or harming another, all I hope is to be in your way.

In my lifetime we’ve gone from the impromptu, hijacked concert in A Goofy Movie being a silly fun reflection of disobedience, to modern students who would probably think they are in an active shooter situation.

Rob Zombie’s music is decent but his lyrics suck.

“Demonoid Phenomenon! You get it out! You get it on!”

What? This is like Cocomelon for goth kids.

That awkward moment when you realize, that since there are significantly easier ways to be completely insufferable, crypto truly doesn’t have _any_ use cases left.

I’m choosing to read the MASSIVE line for Costco’s $1.50 glizzies as a dire economic forecast.

One possibility for why libertarians are so quiet through all of Trump’s overreach is they share the views.

I think the more likely is cowardice: decades of cosplaying Gadsden and crying fascism when screaming at a safe target you secretly know is safe. But now that they need their voice they hide.

Restaurants, movie theaters, and retail have all managed to survive and remain beloved, if smaller, in spite of tech telling us they’d all be killed by progress. I’m increasingly thinking (and I’m a tech worker!) that tech people don’t understand that something can have value just by being enjoyable

There is no appreciable movement from libertarians or independents against the deployment of troops into our cities.

I have put a LOT of effort into trying to understand opposing views because I want to make things work for the most people possible.

Turns out tons of it is just utter bullshit.

I just had an awful premonition: I was thinking about how certain views in Seattle will now only be good when we’re not in wildfire season, and I’m now certain our future contains surge pricing for restaurants.

As someone raised around guns, who learned to use them safely, and generally enjoyed them, the last 10+ years have really sucked, because I see no place for myself in the culture. The idea that second amendment maximalism will make us safer is just indefensible.

The problem with too many people who use the “marketplace of ideas” as a reason to peddle their views (RFK Jr…) is that ideas that are thoroughly debunked are bankrupt and thus have no place in the market.

Continuing to accept bad dumb things in the discourse is a bailout for bankrupt ideas. #RFKjr
