Watching Kes’s character arc reminds me that the issue wasn’t Jennifer Lien’s acting, but rather a poorly written character. It’s clear from watching what happens with Kes after awhile that they ran out of ideas of what to do with her (which is crazy, IMO. She had so much potential).
