I still remember my first time visiting Sweden, I went to IKEA, firstly because my local one back home was all out of blåhaj, but also to see if the meatballs tasted the same. Turns out that yes, they did.

10pm in Japan, called in sick because of a bad headache in the morning but it's better now. I had some drama with my phone company (it's going bankrupt) so I did have to spend some time changing to a new phone number and giving it to my banks, Telegram, etc but other than that, it's been all right.

Heads up: Dealer's den is only a half day thing, and if you don't have sponsor or higher, there's a line to get in (crowd control). You need to set an alarm and get there early to line up.

I work in Japan now, originally planned to come back in a couple years, but considering the current state of affairs and all but two or three members of my family having left the country, that’s become “nope, not going back for a while”.

Totally fair considering the state of affairs! If you still want to check out a con on that side of the Atlantic, maybe a Canadian con instead? Might be the staff bias speaking but Vancoufur is a good one.

There’s maybe ordering from a Japanese website and forwarding to you through a friend in Japan or forwarding service like Blackship. My co-worker (I work in Japan now) gets boxes for like 60 euros, and even worst case shipping shouldn’t add more than like 50 euros to the price.
