Again, very respectfully (I sincerely value the perspective you bring), ending wars should never be an unconditionally sensible thing to do. When under attack, we need to fight them until we win. Just finding a way out is much too dangerous.

With all due respect, this is misleading. A significant reason for the decline of manufacturing as a percent of employment was the phenomenal growth in the service sectors. A graph showing the value of manufactured products made in the US as a % of all manufactured products consumed in the US.
