🏀 We're back! Here's my way-too-early field -- no games yet but it was good to put a bracket together again. Happy college basketball season everyone! 🏀

Happy Selection Sunday! Tough decisions at the cut line, but in the end Indiana & Xavier are my last 2 teams in — they should both hope VCU & Memphis win today…

Final update before 6!

Texas’s wins over Vandy & A&M put them in my field today, but lose and they’ll likely fall out for good. UNC & Boise both won yesterday, but I think they need to win today to get in. UC Irvine, Colorado St & Dayton are the only others with any kind of bubble chance (Wake will likely get passed)

Congrats to SIUE, Omaha, Lipscomb, High Point, and Drake for clinching bids over the weekend! Auburn stays overall #1 despite back to back losses. Despite big resume flaws, Ohio St (14 Ls) & Xavier (only 1 Q1 W) are in the field — because the teams below them have even bigger flaws…

First bracketology of March! A lot of tough seeding choices — at the top, Tennessee narrowly takes the last #1 over Alabama & Florida. The bubble is difficult too — in the end, Boise State is in by a hair over Nebraska & Xavier. Xavier & UNC each need a second Q1 win to make it in as of now.

New bracketology! The 7 line is full of teams that have stumbled a lot recently (UCLA, Kansas, Illinois, Marquette). On the cut line, Wake barely stays in after losing to NC State, mostly by default — SMU is first out but still doesn’t have a Quad 1 win.

It’s officially top 16 reveal day! Here’s my prediction — it’ll be interesting to see if the committee has taken results from the last couple days into account (based on prior years, my guess is no)

Despite Saturday’s loss, Auburn stays the overall #1 in my latest update, followed by Bama, Tenn & Duke. UNC is the last team in, ahead of Arkansas.

Shouts to UCSD — they’d prob have to win out until the BW title for any at-large shot, but amazing to even be in the mix in year 1 of eligibility!

Hi everyone! My first Bluesky bracketology post is also my first in-season update. Feeling fairly confident about the at-larges that I have in (though Drake definitely has a case to be included as well, just depends on how the committee views them — for now I think the metrics would keep them out)
