Need to teach about machine learning and neural networks?
We propose a “Chalktalk” activity: Train a local neural network to classify a bunch of hand drawn figures. Then use it to animate your own interactive story!

I have just updated Snap's neural networks extension with the capability for multinomial classification. You can now generate a block that directly reports the class name of a sample record for data sets with three or more categories.

It was such a pleasure to welcome Mark Guzdial at SAP today, learn about the latest University of Michigan PCAS developments and discuss CS pedagogy wrt neural networks in Snap. Thanks for bringing your ukulele, Mark! You saved my live demo to train a neural model to distinguish musical instruments!

I have just now released Snap! v11, featuring an alternative way to build your own blocks: Instead of writing an algorithm you can let a neural network figure it all out directly from a dataset of examples. Can't wait to show y’all next week at SnapCon in Heidelberg!

#MediaComp meets #AI: I’m training a self-built deep neural network in Snap! on a bunch of 100-sample chunks from 2 recordings so it learns to distinguish between my flute and my harmonica when I play them into my laptop’s microphone. Gonna teach this to kids this fall 🤩

As I’m exploring artificial neural networks and deep learning in Snap! I got distracted by these gorgeous apothecaries’ weights I found in a garage sale nearby. There must be a pedagogical reason for me to buy these, right? RIGHT? 😀
