Like any dog they need to know their position in the pack , once they do I've found them to be calm confident dogs. Poppy is an excellent family dog and I'm sure your daughters dog will be the same

They are family friendly dogs but need intensive social interaction in the early days. They learn what you want from them quickly. Once they feel secure within the family they are happy to fit in with the family routine. The first weeks are important.

I usually struggle between my manual dexterity and Poppy growling and barking but the Heron was totally at ease. I've always had mixed feelings about herons. My pond with a mixture of Koi and goldfish was decimated by a heron . Beautiful bird but destructive pond became a haven for newts and frogs.
