Older than I think
FWIW: My office uses One Drive/Sharepoint for similar reasons and the ram hit is similar. Not sure there is a solution.

Based on his shirt, I think he’s trying to dog proof the gate.

There is! My optometrist has a fancy new camera. It’s a $25 up charge, but well worth it to avoid the dread dilation.

While it had been objectively “proven,” my memory is that it wasn’t until after the election that most Americans accepted the proof as true.

I heard this about both my undergrad and grad schools, but since they were in Ohio, the stories involved observing paths in the snow. I’m guessing most universities eventually give up and pave the worn out paths.

Not necessarily. Endorsements are frequently timed for when they will get maximum attention. Whatever "bump" an endorsement gives is often fleeting. Waiting until the eve of voting makes sense, so long as you haven't been undermining the candidate in the run up.

If he had been saying "I'm holding my endorsement until it can have best impact" and was otherwise quiet, I'd agree with you. But the Strum and Drang about needing to have "conversations" with Mamdani, as if the endorsement was contingent on making concessions, was (at best) not helpful.

Yeah, but on a macro scale I don't think we had any hangups about the war. If anything, the opposite. Pop culture said Nazis were the ultimate bad guys from the end of the war through at least Indiana Jones. Seems like the taboo started to fade with the passing of my grandparents' generation.

2025 has also forced a re-evaluation of the Sokovia Accords.

I think in that world, you have to have a martyr story. Writing for the Free Press, she really can't claim to have suffered much professional backlash (a la Weiss). So she has to tell a personal story.

Misery it is.

We’re well past the point that this game can end in happiness. Misery and respite from misery are the only two options.

I hate being the away team and rooting for a 13th inning.

Thing I wish I knew in undergrad: Block quoting is not cheating. They strengthen your argument. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

Third kid is when you’re outnumbered and that’s the tipping point.

What if, say, cat 2.0 runs away and then you get cat 2.1 but seven years later, 2.0 shows up in a shelter? And your adult college aged child also aquiers a cat (or two) and she comes home for breaks and then you have 5 cats? And a dog.

Such a frustrating listen. Ezra has 1/2 baked notions that the means need to change to achieve better ends (maybe!). But it’s clear he’s hasn’t thought any of his own ideas through and Coates catches him on it again and again.

But because you’re a true Gen Xer, deep down, you feel like you probably deserve to be ignored because your generation didn’t fight any wars… or something… it doesn’t matter anyway.

He was a stray. Best guess was some kind of Shepard/sled dog mix. But he pulled the leash like I was the sled and when we got to the park and let him run…

Holy smokes. The flood of memories this just triggered. He’s my Murphy reincarnate (gone 11 years). Thank you.

Amazon will frequently put them on sale for a better price than Apple w/ edu discount, esp around x-mas. @macrumors.bsky.social does a pretty good job of tracking sales.

My kids (23, 21 and 17) have all known who he is for years. “Debate me, bruh” (said sarcastically) is a running joke for them. Was kind of surprised the fists time the youngest did it.

I think they should go to an emeritus position after 18 years and that will build a bench jurists who could be subbed in when there are conflicts (taking away excuse not to recuse).

Manslay is so convincing, I used to subconsciously feel bad for sister characters that didn’t get enough screen time, as if a different actress wasn’t getting her due.
