Of course, more research is needed, esp. to test the progression of the variables in our model. NTL, body image rumination emerges as a novel predictor of poor health. And, this is yet more evidence that it's those negative weight attitudes--not necessarily weight itself--that can be bad for health

Moreover, this relationship may occur because body image rumination disrupts sleep.
Importantly, these results emerged regardless of BMI, no matter where participants fell on the weight spectrum.

In a sample of undergraduate and online community adults, we found that body image rumination--or rehashing negative thoughts *about your body,* over and over again--was associated with poor self-reported health.

Ever lie awake thinking dark thoughts about your body, vowing to "fix" it, etc? While diet culture will tell you that beating yourself up about your appearance in this way is good for your health, it may be just the opposite.

But tech has to step up. How hard is it to include a non-removable signature when someone uses Copilot to complete an exam or research survey, for example? Or when AI writes something for you? That would be one step toward making AI use more ethical

I keep telling myself it's early days, and it won't always be like this. And I know faculty/universities are doing the work to delineate proper vs. improper uses, how to reduce students' perception that "everyone's using it" in improper ways, how to support faculty who catch it
