It’s been 5 weeks (!) and Ronan’s respiratory symptoms are slowly improving 🤞 Monday is ultrasound to figure out why liver enzymes are so high. Meanwhile he’s enjoying frozen sweet potato in the Kong on these blazing hot days. #UglyDogs

#UglyDogs Ronan still fighting nasty respiratory infection he picked up at the kennel. 2 rounds of antibiotics & steroids, now antihistamine. I’ve never had a dog with anything like this. Bloodwork yesterday; today I learned all his liver enzymes are off the charts. 2 are 20x higher than normal.
The sweetest fluffy black dog in the world, wearing a high-vis orange safety vest, lying on the ground, looking up directly into your eyes.

Ronan at 4 months. His big boy coat hadn’t grown in yet, and wind chills were well minus zero F. He’s sporting a child’s sherpa-lined zip hoodie from the thrift store.

Ronan in clover. Despite being up to date with vaccines, he seems to have picked up kennel cough after being boarded recently 🤦🏻‍♀️

My boy Simon is having surgery tomorrow, he developed glaucoma in his right eye last fall which medication is no longer controlling :(

‘Tis the (cottonwood) season #UglyDogs
What looks like tracks through a grassy lawn covered with snow, but is actually cotton from the cottonwood trees. Looking down lower legs to hiking boots with masses of cotton from cottonwood trees clumped on the toes, standing on a green lawn covered with more cotton. Looks so much like snow….

Exceptionally cute border collie-Aussie mix, black with white tips on front paws and silver leg feathers, lying on his side with front paws outstretched, belly and legs pressed against the bottom of a beige couch. He’s on a large wool area rug, brick red with light blue, gold, and brown flowers and swirls. It sounds hideous but was actually quite lovely until the corner by his front paws somehow got shredded shortly after I adopted him many moons ago. The culprit has never been identified. It’s a mystery….
