I don’t condone the violence, but having read all of the stories about the hell UHC put people through, I can understand why some might resort to it. Brian Thompson was a de facto serial killer. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, or, in this case, cruel greedy games.

I’ve been doing that most of my adult life with minimal results since Democrats are just as much in the pockets of lobbyists as Republicans. People have zero chance of changing this cruel system, so that’s why they turned to violence.
