This year, the squash not only burst forth from the compost in all directions- it’s entangled the wheelbarrow in its vines !

The coal fireplace in my childhood bedroom. House built in 1860s. As an experiment, my Dad got some coal and we burned it in this fireplace. About 1980, I think? Smelly and smoky experience! Note the kerosene lamp - used that when electric power went out. Today, this house has a heat pump.
