An electric boiler under a sink where there can be water leaks does not sound dangerous to you? You are right when you say that I don't know much about Germany; however I was discussing an issue in the UK (where I am pretty sure that an electric boiler under a water main would be illegal, btw)

I have no experience in Germany, so it may be the case there that people have 1 sink (I'venever seen a boiler under a sink, I would have thought that was dangerous, tbh). All generalisations are wrong to some extent.
