I didn't say no one spoke to it at all, as my complaint was about choice of speakers. But I wasn't precise enough. Here's my corrected wording:

The US does not control every action of the state of Israel nor of Bibi, but there sure as hell is a lot of military provision coming from here that could stop or be made contingent on complying with international law. And our leaders could, I dunno, use their words to call out the genocide. But?

I re-watched the speech from the American hostage's parents. In their shoes, I too would prioritize a release of the hostages. But despite their tragedy, I do not think that stopping the murder of children in Gaza, or an entire people, should be contingent on their release.

The OP called attention to the choice of speakers and their representation of needed votes. The uncommitted movement worked to present many options for a Palestinian-American speaker and were rejected. That is what I brought up as notable.

Nowhere did I mention Trump, and I agree that the world is better off under Harris than Trump, by far. But I haven't seen any real evidence that the genocide of Palestinians will stop under Trump, Biden, or Harris. That is a big deal and worthy of calling out and discussion.

Yeah I'm sure age plays a role, though the "compared to adults" thing is in play for sure cause we get plenty of asks. But also enough assuming to see a guesser developing (amusingly, the assuming thought process is often verbal, so we can catch the muttering and course correct)

Maybe compared to their adult versions, but it's not universal. I wish my kids would just friggin ask for what they want.
