Let’s respect the profession and each other. We’re all in this together—unless you’re trying to outsource parenting to the picket line. In that case, you’re on your own.

And before anyone pipes up with “But I don’t have anyone to watch my kid!”—let me stop you right there. Teachers are educators, not emergency childcare. They didn’t sign up to be your Plan B because you forgot to make a Plan A.

If a strike is on the horizon, maybe don’t wait until the morning of to realize your child isn’t self-raising. Coordinate with other parents in your grade or school. Form a plan. Swap numbers. Build a support network. You know—basic adulting.

And until that happens buy the crayons and glue sticks, after all it is probably your kid breaking the crayons and eating the glue sticks.

Bought the glue sticks again? You’re not mad at teachers—you’re mad at the system. Underfunded schools = out-of-pocket classrooms. Demand funding. Stop blaming the people holding it all together.
