No, I wish we did this at my campus. We often are given a choice board and the ability to do PD remotely, but our choice board has remained pretty static for a couple of years, and doesn't really allow complete freedom of choice. In particular, the science options never really seem relevant.

I love that! Responsibility really is a path to power. Getting that across to students could help to cure some of the entitlement culture that so easily creeps into kids' heads! #TLAP #EDSI6321

Provide students with choice, relevance, and the confidence to fall because they know that they can learn and grow from it. #tlap #edsi6321

I always try to be self-reflective, and when I think that I might be part of the problem, I own that, and do whatever I can to make it right. Sometimes that means extending due dates, sometimes it means reteaching. I don't want to be the reason a kid doesn't learn. #TLAP #edsi6321

I have learned that my students often do work better and learn more when I let go a little and give them more freedom to accomplish things on their own terms. Often they find that they are more curious about something than they thought! #TLAP #edsi6321

Provide teachers with a range of PD topics and then allow teachers to curate their own PD based on their own interests and needs, with a target that must be reached each year. One resource that I saw called it "Staff Infection." #edusky #edsi6321

I think the problem lies in focusing on accountability rather than improvement. Accountability always includes test scores, which imply that there is a final destination. We should be focused on the never-ending process of improving instead of arriving. #edusky #edsi6321

My best PD experience was the MIPEP PD at Texas A&M. It was a two week long, all expenses paid PD aimed at providing high school physics teachers with a combination of content and pedagogy reinforcement. The whole experience was both fun and educational.

Work to ensure that the students look forward to coming to your classroom, whether they look forward to the work or not. When kids look forward to coming to my class, I look forward to seeing them, too! Changes the whole perspective. #EDSI6321 #Edusky

I definitely agree with @abeene.bsky.social. Teachers already don't get paid for all of the hours they put in outside the classroom. More boxes to check means more hours to put in! #edusky #edsi6321
